    保护地球,远离宠物

          据中国日报消息 新西兰维多利亚大学教授罗伯特和布伦达·韦尔近日在一本新书中建议人们不养宠物或养更小的宠物,甚至建议把宠物吃掉,以更好地保护我们的地球。


      两人指出,宠物虽小但是它们排放的二氧化碳量和它们的个头并不成正比。一条中等大小的狗和一辆一年行驶6000英里的丰田陆地巡洋舰对环境的影响是一样的,一只猫对环境的影响和一辆大众高尔夫相当。


      他们称一条普通的牧羊犬每年要吃164公斤肉和95公斤谷物,所以他们对环境的影响很大。但是一对兔子每年可以产36只兔崽,这样他们就能为人类提供72公斤兔肉,有助于人类减少二氧化碳排放。

    无知的人,终将为自己的无知付出代价!

    Let's stop keeping pets! It is not unreasonable to belive that the amount of money we spend on the average pet dog could keep a child alive in a region of great poverty.To give what we would spend on a cat might not feel a child,but it would probably pay for his medical care or basic education.
